Michael Montgomery, who joins as partner, was previously at HWL Ebsworth. He specialises in technology, intellectual property and telecommunications law.

Justin Senescall, also a partner, joins from Middletons where he was a partner and specialist intellectual property lawyer.

Sally Barber joins the firm as a senior litigation and dispute resolution lawyer with 15 years’ experience in both Australia and Singapore.

Jonathon Corlett joins Truman Hoyle’s industrial law team. He has worked in the industrial relations sector since 1996 and has extensive experience across all facets of employment and industrial law.

Truman Hoyle managing partner, Andrew Seaton, said the firm anticipates making further senior appointments, and said the firm wants to become the specialist new economy law firm in the region.

“While much has been made of the impact of the mining sector on the Australian economy in recent years, the industry sectors where we focus have also enjoyed good times with every indication being that these sectors remain very robust.”
