APPARENTLY taking an insanity plea to its critical maximum in a criminal trial last week, James Orr squeezed the contents of his colostomy bag onto the table in front of him and ate it.
Prosecutor David Prem told a local Cincinnati newspaper: "There was what appeared to be feces on the table and on the floor."
Prem was prosecuting Orr, 66, for robbery and kidnapping. The trial, without a jury in a Common Pleas Court, saw Orr lean to his attorney and ask him if he had anything to eat. The lawyer replied that he did not. Orr then said he was hungry and asked for food. The lawyer ignored him, the newspaper reports.
Orr then took his colostomy bag, which was worn on the outside of his body to collect his waste, placed it on the table and looked to be eating it. Orr was promptly rushed out of the courtroom.
