Bland joins the firm’s Melbourne office to head up the new national financial services practice with a team of lawyers.

Having spent four years at corporate law firm Clarendon in Melbourne, Bland brings a wealth of experience in providing advisory, transactional, regulatory and other dispute resolution services to institutions in the financial services industry.

In recent years, he and his team have advised fund managers, superannuation trustees, financial advisers and other AFS licence holders.

“Mark has an impeccable reputation and brings with him a wealth of experience and a team of lawyers. They are joining us at a time when the financial services industry is facing an extraordinary amount of regulatory and legislative change and commercial pressures from continuing economic uncertainty,” said Mills Oakley’s CEO, John Nerurker.

Prior to working for Clarendon, Bland was a senior lawyer at Greenfields Financial Services Lawyers for one and a half years, and a senior lawyer at ASIC for five years.
