Minter Ellison has appointed Pamela Jack as head of the firm's construction practice and Andrew Rentoul as the new infrastructure industry group leader.
Both roles were previously held by Brisbane-based Ian Briggs, who has taken 12 months' leave from the firm to work with a major client.
Rentoul specialises in sector-related M&A, privatisation and concession arrangements, project structures and infrastructure development.
His milestone transactions include privatisations and acquisitions of ports, airports, power stations and gas distribution networks and the development of infrastructure and utilities. He works with both the private and public sectors and was the lead legal adviser to the Queensland Government on the privatisation of the Port of Brisbane and Cairns and Mackay Airports.
Jack (pictured) has more than 30 years' practice experience that spans both front-end project development and major construction disputes.
Described by Chambers Global as "an excellent lawyer who has a very thorough and proactive approach", Jack won the Euromoney's Australasian Women in Business Law Award for 'Best in Construction' in 2012.
Announcing the appointments, chief executive partner John Weber said the broad construction, engineering and infrastructures sectors were areas of key expertise, practice growth and strategic opportunity for the firm
Partner Julie Whitehead has been leading the construction team in Brisbane for the past year and will continue in that role.
