Heinemann has 10 years’ experience providing tax advice across a range of commercial issues. He regularly advises on income tax, GST, customs duties, stamp duty, transfer pricing and international tax issues. His practice has a strong focus on assisting clients to resolve tax disputes with the ATO.
Before joining CGW in 2010, Heinemann was a tax lawyer in Baker & McKenzie’s Sydney office. Prior to that, he worked for a Big Four accounting firm in the UK and China.
Tapiolas provides services to accountants, financial planners and other professional advisors, including technical advice on complex tax issues. She also acts on business sales and acquisitions.
Prior to joining CGW in 2007, Tapiolas was an accountant for 18 years, advising clients on capital gains, business acquisitions and restructuring.
Welcoming the new partners to their roles, CGW managing partner Chris Ward said they would play a significant role in ensuring the firm’s ongoing success.
“On behalf of all of the team members at Cooper Grace Ward, I congratulate our new partners,” he said.
“These promotions are recognition of their achievements at Cooper Grace Ward and demonstrate a key element of our firm’s strategy – the empowerment of a high performance team.”
The firm also promoted Lara Dawson to special counsel in its commercial group, and made four promotions to the positions of both senior associate and associate.
All promotions took effect on 1 July.
