Taxing job for new Rockwell Olivier practice head

Rockwell Olivier has lured an in-house director and former Ernst & Young partner to lead the firm’s tax practice in Sydney.

Morris Maroon (pictured) has been appointed as head of tax after a brief stint as director of taxation for Altus Financial. He was previously a partner at Ernst & Young, a position he held for seven years.

 
 

Maroon has worked in corporate and international tax law for more than 25 years. His experience in the ‘big four’ chartered accounting environment was highly valued by Rockwell Olivier, the firm said in a statement.

Maroon will work alongside Peter Bobbin, managing principal of Rockwell Olivier’s Sydney office, and John Ridgway, the firm’s managing principal – international.

The Rockwell Olivier group has 24 principals and 80 other fee earners.
