Swaab’s last managing partner was founder Fred Swaab, who stepped down from the role in 2010 when he was diagnosed with leukaemia. He will continue as chairman of the firm following Digiglio’s appointment.
Digiglio, 38, has been a partner at Swaab for more than five years.
“This is a huge learning curve for me, as it is for any partner being appointed to such a position. I am grateful to have the benefit of Bronwyn’s corporate knowledge at my side,” said Digiglio.
The firm claimed the appointment was the culmination of a 10-year-long succession plan, which has also driven an increase in partner and solicitor numbers.
Swaab currently has 14 partners.
