Photo gallery: Ethics lecture kicks off Hellenic lawyers’ event program
A lecture on ethics by Justice Emilios Kyrou of the Supreme Court of Victoria was the first event hosted by the Hellenic Australian Lawyers Association (HALA) since its launch in April.

The inaugural lecture and dinner was held on 29 May in Melbourne and attracted more than 130 lawyers. Justice Kyrou presented on the topic of ‘Modern Ethical Pitfalls for Lawyers’.

Other legal dignitaries who attended the event include Federal Court Justice Shane Marshall and a number of Melbourne’s longest-serving lawyers of Greek background.
The association is planning to continue the lecture-and-dinner format and introduce other CPD activities, including panel discussions.
HALA president Andrew Panna QC said the event was an opportunity to deepen learning in the law, celebrate the long history of Australian lawyers of Greek background and offer practitioners time to network and to get to know each other better.
