Lisa Merryweather will be joining boutique law firm Allion Legal as principal, and will be based in the Sydney office.

Merryweather joined ABL in 2005 where she was promoted to partner. She started her career at Allens where she was made senior associate.

Merryweather practices in commercial and corporate law, with a focus on M&A.

She is the second partner to leave ABL in the last month after Rick Narev’s defection to Addisons in May.

Allion Legal has also appointed Ailyn Choo as senior associate in its corporate practice and Chun Wing Yeung as senior associate in the finance practice.

The firm also announced it has promoted Ivan Armeli to principal, Rebecca McFarlane to senior associate in the litigation and dispute resolution practice, and Michael Panegyres to special counsel in the property practice.

“All our new principals and senior associates have backgrounds in major global firms, all have worked with clients in the key sectors we specialise in, being energy and resources, projects and infrastructure and agribusiness, and all possess excellent technical skills,” said Allion Legal’s managing principal Phil Lucas (pictured).
