"Arthur joining the firm is another significant milestone as we continue to grow our corporate practice,” said Bakers' national managing partner Chris Freeland.
Apos said he was pleased to be joining Bakers: “The firm offers a recognised brand, a significant Australian practice, an unparalleled global reach, and most importantly, it's an optimal strategic and cultural fit for me and my career.”
Bakers has also announced that former senior associate at Norton Rose Fulbright, Aleisa Crepin, has joined the firm as a construction litigation partner in the Brisbane office.
Bakers' Brisbane office opened early last year and has since grown to four partners and eight associates.
Corrs Chambers Westgarth partner Peter Ickeringill also recently moved to Bakers.
Apos is the latest in a long list of partner departures from Ashurst. Late last year, special counsel Jeffrey Goldberger left for Henry Davis York and three partners moved to Herbert Smith Freehills.
