Patricia Matthews and Mark Pedley have been appointed as judicial registrars in the Supreme Court of Victoria this week.

Ms Matthews joins the court’s civil law division with 14 years’ experience as a commercial litigator.

She previously worked as a special counsel for King & Wood Mallesons in litigation and dispute resolution. Ms Matthews’ expertise also spans personal injuries, negligence and wrongful death claims.

Mr Pedley will be responsible for establishing a specialist criminal division registry. The new judicial registrar will also support the functions of the principal judge of the criminal division on management and listing matters.

Mr Pedley has had a varied career, most recently working as the Commonwealth Solicitor for Public Prosecutions.

He is a former judicial registrar of the Victorian Court of Appeal, where he led a major restructure and the implementation of reforms for the management and hearing of criminal appeals.
