Dimitra Dubrow (pictured) is set to join the Coroners Court of Victoria following the departure of Katherine Lorenz, who was appointed as a judicial registrar to the state’s Supreme Court.
Dubrow has most recently served as the national head of medical negligence and dust diseases at national plaintiff firm Maurice Blackburn. She has worked for almost 25 years at the BigLaw firm.
She is a Law Institute of Victoria accredited personal injuries specialist, the Victorian Attorney-General’s Department detailed in a statement, and has worked to increase access and make improvements to the law and legal processes and improve patient outcomes in the healthcare system.
Speaking about the appointment, Attorney-General Jaclyn Symes said: “I’d like to congratulate Ms Dubrow on her appointment to the Coroners Court.
“She brings a wealth of experience to the role and will deliver justice and integrity in all her work with the court.
“I’d also like to thank Katherine Lorenz, who has provided an outstanding service and depth of expertise as a coroner, and congratulate her on her appointment as judicial registrar.”
