Managing partner of the firm Howard Harrison welcomed McClelland (pictured) and noted his knowledge of the “inner workings” of government at a national level, and his mediation skills.

“Robert brings with him an obvious wealth of experience at a national level, which will be invaluable to our workplace solutions practice,” he said.

McClelland was the attorney general from 2007 to 2011, until he was dumped from the post by Julia Gillard.

McClelland was a supporter of Kevin Rudd during the leadership struggles which undermined the federal Labor government.

Following that tenure, he became a partner at Turner Freeman Lawyers, where he was a team leader for workplace dispute resolution service and public law and government advisory service.

He is a director on LEADR – Association of Dispute Resolvers, and the White Ribbon Foundation.
