Corrs Chambers Westgarth has added to its litigation team in Perth, with the appointment of Michelle Dean as a special counsel.

Ms Dean (pictured) specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution with a focus on insolvency, restructuring and banking litigation.

She has experience representing banks, financial institutions and insolvency practitioners, as well as advising boards of directors on insolvent trading and voidable transactions.

Prior to starting at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Ms Dean worked at King & Wood Mallesons and has also spent time in London working at DLA Piper UK LLP.

Corrs Chambers Westgarth CEO and partner John WH Denton AO said: “We are delighted to welcome Michelle to Corrs. Her depth of international and local experience will be an asset to the Perth litigation team.”

Mr Denton recently became the only Australian CEO to sit on the executive board of the International Chamber of Commerce after he was appointed to the position in July.

Corrs Chambers Westgarth recently lost M&A partner David Hallam, who switched to DLA Piper, and energy and resources partner James Minchinton, who defected to Sparke Helmore Lawyers.
