Brisbane firm takes one from rival

Thynne + Macartney announced this week the appointment of a new lawyer to its maritime and transport team.

Rosemary Gibson (pictured) left Brisbane firm Cooper Grace Ward to join Thynne + Macartney.

She has experience in commercial litigation, dispute resolution and insurance law including marine insurance, heavy road transport insurance, life insurance and personal injury.

She has a special interest in maritime and shipping law, and acts for a range of international P&I Clubs as well as local insurers.

Her expertise includes advising clients in relation to cargo and wharf damage, ship groundings, charter party disputes, marine insurance and marine pollution.

Ms Gibson has recently undertaken academic research at the Beirne School of Law and is completing a Master of Laws in marine and shipping law.
