Aussie lawyer promoted to global partnership

A global firm has announced that a Perth-based lawyer will join its network of international partners along with eight others.

Clyde & Co has promoted nine new partners, including Tim Searle (pictured) from Australia. The promotions are effective from 1 May.

Mr Searle works in the insurance group of Clyde & Co’s Perth office. He has been a senior associate with the firm for more than four years, and previously worked with UK firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP.

Clyde & Co promoted new partners across its global sector groups, with the insurance group enjoying the largest intake of new leaders.

The firm also bolstered the partner ranks of its trade and commodities, marine, projects and construction, and corporate practice groups.

Clyde & Co named four lawyers in the Asia-Pacific, three in the UK, one in the Middle East and Africa, and one in the US as new partners. The latest news brings Clyde & Co’s partner tally to 375 partners worldwide.

Commenting on the promotions, senior partner Simon Konsta, said that make up of the leadership team reflected the “range of people, talent and countries” in which Clyde & Co did business.

“The group contains top-calibre lawyers who have demonstrated the market-leading advice and client service that we're known for,” Mr Konsta said.

“It also demonstrates the opportunities we give people to grow and develop with us across the world,” he said.

The other new partners are Leon Alexander (Singapore), Kevin Martin and Dennis Wong (Hong Kong and China), Ben Smith (Dubai), Richard Elks, Katie Carmichael and Kate Duffy (UK), and David Jordan (US).
