Hall & Wilcox has welcomed a new partner to the firm’s Brisbane office, reinforcing its national corporate and commercial capability.

A corporate and commercial lawyer, Michelle Eastwell has over 15 years’ experience in M&A, capital markets, governance advice and commercial contracting, with clients across a range of sectors. She works with companies listed on the ASX and other stock exchanges as well as with unlisted companies, including emerging businesses.

Ms Eastwell has extensive experience negotiating significant commercial agreements and providing commercial advice on business-critical issues and works closely with her clients to assist with corporate governance issues and regulatory compliance.

Of her appointment, Ms Eastwell said she was looking forward to working within the areas of corporate and capital markets at the national firm.

“I am delighted to be joining Hall & Wilcox. The firm’s genuine focus on its people, delivering outstanding client outcomes and Smarter Law is impressive,” she said.

“I am thrilled to be taking on a leadership role in the Brisbane commercial practice and look forward to assisting with the growth of the national corporate and capital markets practice.”

Hall & Wilcox managing partner Tony Macvean said Ms Eastwell’s appointment was part of the firm’s strategy to build its broader commercial offering in Queensland, as well as to increase the depth of the firm’s national commercial and capital markets practice.

“Michelle is an excellent lawyer and person, who comes from a firm that we respect. She will have a leadership role in our commercial practice in Brisbane, as well as adding strength to our national corporate and capital markets practice,” he said.

“We are confident that our clients will greatly benefit from Michelle’s appointment, and that Michelle will thrive in the role.”
