SYDNEY FIRM Atanaskovic Hartnell has announced the promotion of three of its senior associates — Zoe Hillman, Paul Miller and Michael Sophocles — to the position of partner.

Hillman, who specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, joined the firm in February 2007 having previously been a senior associate in a top tier firm. She has particular experience in banking and finance, insolvency and corporate litigation matters, and has advised banks, telecommunications companies, insolvency practitioners and directors of listed public companies in a range of Federal and Supreme Court matters. She takes on the position of partner at just 31 years of age.

Miller joined the firm early last year, relocating to Sydney from London. He was previously a corporate partner in a London law firm for five years, where he was registered with the UK Listing Authority to undertake sponsor activities in relation to fully listed companies on the London Stock Exchange, a role which is undertaken only by investment banks in Australia. Since moving to Australia, he has acted on a combination of private treaty acquisitions, wholesale investor project restructures and several capital raisings on the ASX.

Sophocles joined Atanaskovic Hartnell last year, bringing with him more than 15 years commercial litigation experience from top tier firms in New Zealand and Australia. He is also highly experienced in the use of alternative dispute resolution and is a mediator accredited by LEADR and a member of LEADR’s Domain Name Dispute Resolution panel in New South Wales.
