MEDICAL MALPRACTICE expert Kate Francis has been appointed as special counsel at Sydney and Melbourne firm, Lander & Rogers.

Francis, who has joined the firm’s insurance law and litigation group, has extensive experience in defending medical malpractice, personal injuries, transport accident and public liability claims in all Victoria jurisdictions. She has acted for public and private hospitals and has advised hospitals and professional bodies on a wide range of legal issues. She has also been involved in a number of high-profile coronial inquests.
Francis is currently a member of the Animal Research and Ethics Committee of the Victorian Eye and Ear hospital. She was also a member of the Nurses Board of Victoria which involved statutory interpretation and participating in disciplinary hearings between 1993 and 1997.
