THE COLLEGE of Law Victoria has appointed a new chief executive officer and director of programs in legal educator and former barrister, Anita Kwong.

Her appointment is effective as of 26 June, and Kwong brings her experience as a Victorian barrister, legal educator and senior manager to the role.

“Student numbers at the College of Law Victoria have been steadily increasing over the last two years,” Bill O’Shea, chair of the board of directors said. “[With Kwong’s] skills we will be able to continue to provide superior practical legal training and grow student numbers.”

Kwong was previously the Victoria and Tasmania state manager at the Taxation Institute of Australia, and prior to that managed continuing professional development programs at Leo Cussen Institute. Together with her seven years in practice at the Victorian bar, she will bring a wealth of experience to the role.

“I am delighted to be joining the college, especially during this time of change in pre-admission training, which is a challenge and great opportunity,” Kwong said.
