Middletons has added to its growing banking and finance team with the appointment of new partner, Paul Sroka, in Melbourne. Sroka joins a team which now includes six partners and his focus will be on project and infrastructure finance.

Hunt & Hunt has appointed partner David Thompson to its Melbourne office. He was previously a partner at Mills Oakley Lawyers. Thompson works exclusively in workplace law, including employment law, industrial relations, occupational health and safety and equal opportunity.

Darren Foeng has recently joined Mellor Olsson in the firm’s commercial services division. He is particularly interested in taxation planning and is experienced in providing Australian and international tax advice. His areas of expertise include income tax, capital gains tax and GST, as well as stamp duty aspects of transactions.

Gadens has appointed Paul Boonzaaier, Chris O’Shea and Craig Charlton to its growing property group in Brisbane. Boonzaaier has been appointed as a director. He was previously with Multiplex Developments in Sydney where he was in-house legal counsel. Boonzaaier brings to Gadens more than 16 years experience in all aspects of mixed use, community title and broadacre property development. Chris O’Shea also recently joined the firm as a director. O’Shea has more than 15 years experience with top-tier national firms. Craig Charlton has joined the property group as a consultant to the planning and environment team. He is a former town planner with the Queensland Government’s Department of Local Government and Planning (South East Queensland Planning Division).
