Deal: Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Nura on a capital raise led by Blackbird Ventures.

Value: $15 million

Area: Corporate

Key players: Herbert Smith Freehills’ private equity team was led by partner Peter Dunne and supported by Claire Bamford.

Deal significance: Nura is an Australian technology company “that develops and manufactures headphones that automatically adapt to a listener’s unique hearing”, according to an HSF statement.

Blackbird Ventures led the investment after their participation in Nura’s 2017 seed funding round.

“Blackbird Ventures’ follow-on investment in Nura highlights the strong interest that investors continue to have in Australian technology companies,” Mr Dunne said.

He said the firm was pleased to partner with Nura “at an important point in the company’s expansion” and following the firm’s previous work with the company in its seed round.
