Allens appoints 33 to senior roles

Allens has named 13 new managing associates, one principal patent attorney and 20 senior associates in its Australian offices in a new round of internal promotions.

Effective from 1 July 2019, the appointments reflect firm-wide growth across multiple practice groups and in offices in Australia and the Asia-Pacific, according to a statement.

The statement also acknowledged a managing associate promotion in Allens’ Ho Chi Minh City office, while a senior associate appointment has also occurred in the firm’s Port Moresby office.

The firm’s managing partner, Richard Spurio, said: “I am very excited to announce these appointments. Individually, they are dedicated and driven legal professionals, and as a group, they bring diversity of experience and expertise.

Jacinta Dyer (Brisbane, banking & finance); Yu Zhang (Sydney, banking & finance); Morgan Phelan (Sydney, banking & finance); Anita Thompson (Sydney, competition); James Campbell (Sydney, disputes & investigations); George Blades (Sydney, disputes & investigations); Laura Hablous (Sydney, disputes & investigations); Alex Tolliday (Sydney, disputes & investigations); Jessica Selby (appointed 1 January 2019; Sydney, corporate); Stephanie Malon (Melbourne, corporate); Gobind Kalsi (Brisbane, projects & development); Karyn Thomson (Perth, projects & development); Rebecca Pleming (Sydney, projects & development).

The principal patent attorney promotion has been named as:
