Last Thursday (26 May), recruitment firms Burgess Paluch Legal Recruitment and Kaleidoscope Legal Recruitment hosted a free screening of Top Gun: Maverick for a limited audience of lawyers, support staff and HR managers to help those professionals relive the 80s with the long-awaited sequel to the 1986 cult classic, Top Gun.

Speaking about the screening, Burgess Paluch director Doron Paluch said: “Over the last few months, we have seen a transformation in Melbourne as it has gone from the most locked-down city in the world to a bustling metropolitan city again.

“As law firms return to the city for work, they are also returning to social events like the Legal Industry Drinks and Movie Night hosted by Burgess Paluch Legal Recruitment and Kaleidoscope Legal Recruitment for the screening of Top Gun: Maverick.

“These functions and social events are an important part of the fabric for the legal industry as it provides a great chance for legal support staff and lawyers to network, while also having a bit of fun, and the functions have been sorely missed over the last few years.

“Companies like Burgess Paluch and Kaleidoscope are leading the way to promote these social events and keep the legal community connected. All day today we’ve been receiving extremely positive feedback from lawyers, support staff and HR managers who attended the night.”

And – Mr Paluch added – the general consensus from the screening is that “the movie was very, very good!”

He further noted that the recruitment firms had “very positive feedback” from the event, with attendees happy to revert to some semblance of normalcy with professional social activities and not have to attend “another uninspired boring lunch seminar about HR topics”.
