TAE Aerospace acquired by ASDAM

TAE Aerospace has been wholly acquired by Australian defence manufacturer ASDAM, in a move that will see ASDAM become one of the “biggest players” in the Australian defence sector.

Deal: G+T has advised ASDAM on its acquisition of 100 per cent of the shares of TAE Aerospace, which was advised by K&L Gates in the transaction.

Key players: The K&L Gates team was led by Brisbane partner Phil Vickery and special counsel Lea Fua.

The G+T team was led by corporate advisory partner Alastair Corrigall together with lawyers Muli Zhou, Kim Nguyen and Juliette van Ratingen. 

Deal significance: This major transaction in the Australian defence sector is the latest in a string of strategic acquisitions by ASDAM.

ASDAM is involved in engineering, advanced manufacturing and sustainment across the defence, aerospace, and industrial markets and is owned by funds managed by CPE Capital and currently comprises Marand and Levett.

TAE Aerospace provides aerospace engineering, manufacturing, turbine engine and component MRO products and services across the Asia-Pacific region and North and South America.

TAE Aerospace is Australia’s largest engine MRO provider and the operator of the only F-35 Joint Strike Fighter engine MRO facility in the Asia-Pacific region; they service engines for both commercial clients and global and local defence programs. 

Mr Vickery commented: “We are very proud to have been a part of this landmark Australian defence sector transaction.”
