Deal: Sydney Metro has awarded a $41 million contract to Hyundai Movex for the design, supply and installation of 150 mechanical gap fillers — a new technology that mechanically fills the gap between train and station platforms — and 360 platform screen doors on stations between Marrickville and Bankstown on the T3 Bankstown Line, which DLA Piper said is currently being converted to Sydney Metro’s standards as part of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project.
The improvements will, the firm noted, “ensure easy and safe access for customers. This technology will keep people and objects safe.”
Area: Projects
Value: $41 million
Key players: The DLA team was led by partner Jonathan Stafford, who was supported by solicitor Eric Young Jin.
Deal significance: Speaking about the matter, Mr Stafford said: “Hyundai Movex’s engagement is testament to its capabilities and is an important step towards improved accessibility for commuters.”
“This cutting-edge technology, which is a first of its kind in Australia, will be used to upgrade stations on the Bankstown line to meet metro standards.”
