Global law firm Clifford Chance has added a new employment partner in Sydney, who joins from BigLaw rival DLA Piper.
Bringing 12 years of experience to the firm, new partner Clancy King has joined Clifford Chance’s global tax, pensions and employment (TPE) practice. She was most recently a partner at DLA Piper, where she spent almost eight years.
King has experience advising clients on various employment and workplace issues, from pre-employment to managing exits, including complex disputes, workplace investigations, litigation, and day-to-day matters. She has also advised clients on employment aspects, such as employee transfers and restructuring, that arise from corporate transactions, as well as Australian market entries.
“I am thrilled to be joining Clifford Chance and to have the opportunity to contribute to building a strong employment offering in Australia,” she said.
“I look forward to working alongside a team of highly respected professionals to help our clients achieve their strategic goals.”
This news comes after the naming of a new managing partner for Australia, Mark Currell, last month.
“Clancy joining our team in Sydney marks a significant step in strengthening our employment law offering in Australia. Her extensive experience and impressive track record will be invaluable in supporting our market-leading work on corporate transactions and disputes,” Currell said of the new appointment.
Global practice areas leader for the TPE practice Pablo Serrano de Haro added that King’s “expertise and leadership will be instrumental in establishing a robust employment offering in Australia and bolstering our global tax, pensions and employment practice, which includes over 100 specialist employment lawyers and is one of the largest global employment practices among law firms”.
