KWM has added four partners to its ranks Down Under, who will assume their new roles in the looming financial year.

Adam Black (energy, resources, and infrastructure, Brisbane), Karim Issa (M&A, Brisbane), Genovieve Lajeunesse (M&A, Melbourne), and Richard Shi (energy, resources, and infrastructure, Perth) are the BigLaw firm’s newest additions to its partnership ranks.

The new partners, the firm said in a statement, “highlight the continued growth in demand for private markets dealmaking capability and represent the significance of digital and energy transition-related projects to underwriting economic growth and prosperity”.

The promotions are effective as of 1 July.

The news follows the firm’s hiring of a partner from Clayton Utz in May, as well as its appointment of three partners across APAC in February.

It also follows the firm’s rolling out of ‘Harvey’ AI last month.

Speaking about the promotions, KWM chief executive partner Renae Lattey said: “We are very pleased to welcome four exceptional lawyers to the KWM Australia partnership, bringing the number of new partners over the past year to 16.

“These promotions underscore both the remarkable talent we bring through our firm and our ongoing focus on developing future leaders. Our new partners will build on their dedication to our clients and drive the firm’s continued growth across the region.”
