National law firm Thomson Geer has strengthened its employment, workplace relations and safety team by welcoming a partner from national rival Holding Redlich.
Thomson Geer has appointed Jane Hall (pictured) as a partner to its national employment, workplace relations and safety team, strengthening the firm’s Melbourne office with her extensive expertise.
Before joining Thomson Geer, Hall spent nearly two years as a partner at national rival Holding Redlich within its work health and safety practice.
Hall brings more than 25 years of expertise in work health and safety law, encompassing high-stakes litigation, criminal prosecutions, the development of robust safety systems, and comprehensive WHS governance frameworks.
In a statement, Thomson Geer noted that Hall brings extensive experience advising ASX-listed companies, private firms, and government clients on every facet of health and safety law, having managed over 600 investigations and 300 regulatory prosecutions.
Thomson Geer chief executive partner Adrian Tembel shared how Hall’s appointment marks a major boost to the firm’s national workplace and employment practice and expands the range of services available to clients.
“Jane’s appointment significantly strengthens our national workplace and employment capability. Her deep specialist expertise in work health and safety will bolster our service to clients across property, construction and government sectors,” Tembel said.
“Jane’s combination of legal excellence and regulatory insight aligns perfectly with our focus on being a top-tier challenger firm offering true depth in specialist disciplines.”
Speaking about her new role, Hall expressed her enthusiasm for joining Thomson Geer, highlighting how the firm’s collaborative culture and national platform provide the ideal environment to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients in health and safety law.
“I’m very pleased to be joining Thomson Geer. The firm’s national platform, collaborative culture and commitment to technical excellence create the perfect environment to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients in the ever-evolving area of health and safety law,” Hall said.
This news follows the firm’s appointment of a partner and special counsel to its banking and finance practice at the start of October, the acquisition of a 17-person employment law team from Holding Redlich at the end of June, and the promotion of 55 lawyers to more senior roles in the same month.
