Dentons’ Australia chair and Australasia region CEO, Amber Warren, highlighted Fregon’s appointment as part of the BigLaw firm’s “strategic investment in the future of our firm and our clients”.

“Her leadership experience and deep litigation expertise will be instrumental in strengthening our national capacity and driving growth across key sectors”.

The appointment will, the firm said, strengthen the reach of its national dispute resolution arm.

Fregon is a leading corporate crime and regulatory investigations lawyer, the firm said, and has held previous roles as a barrister, general counsel, and senior executive.

The litigator brings 25 years of experience in commercial, major tort and corporate crime law and regulatory investigation to the firm, as well as an understanding of enforcement disputes for public, private and institutional clients across the financial service, consumer goods, industry body, and professional services sectors.

Speaking about her new role, Fregon said: “Dentons’ collaborative culture creates an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the dispute resolution practice and to deliver innovative, insightful and commercially informed advice to our clients.”

Fregon, who was most recently a board member for the Victorian Legal Admissions Board and previously a partner at Lander & Rogers, has been welcomed “to our market-leading team” by Dentons partner and head of dispute resolution John Dalzell.

“Her extensive experience enhances the depth and quality of dispute resolution advice we provide to our clients, ensuring they achieve the best possible outcomes,” Dalzell said.

The news follows the expansion of Dentons’ employment and safety practice, which operates nationally following the appointment of Perth-based workplace relations partner Kate Walawski.

Warren said: “We are committed to building a team that not only delivers exceptional legal outcomes but also anticipates the evolving needs of our clients in an increasingly complex environment.”

Fregon said: “I am looking forward to helping to grow the practice and supporting our clients through their most complex challenges.”
