According to McCabes managing principal Andrew Lacey, the additions signal a focus on strategic growth.

McCabes will be joined by Vijay Edwards and his team, including senior associate Isaac Rowe, lawyer Alex Taylor, and legal assistant Cherie Dent, in their Brisbane office.

In Melbourne, Anastasia Kolovos and Timothy Coghlan are joined by special counsel Ben Rissman, senior associate Lisa Harrison, as well as associates Yasemin Sargin and Genevieve Vafeas, and legal assistants Tanya Mtetwa and Halina Van Kruining.

All three new principals depart Colin Biggers & Paisley.

On her new position, Kolovos outlined: “McCabes has built a strong reputation in the casualty space. I look forward to contributing to the continued development of the practice and working alongside a highly regarded national group.”

Coghlan commented: “The firm has shown integrity in their growth strategy and a key factor in my decision to join is investment in its people. I am excited to work alongside a forward-thinking group of lawyers in McCabes’ Melbourne office.”

Lacey added: “Increasing our Insurance Division’s national capability has been a priority to ensure we are well-positioned to meet growing demand.

“Vijay, Anastasia and Timothy each bring the experience and strong client relationships needed to scale our presence in Brisbane and Melbourne.”

All new hires commenced their roles earlier this month.
