Second-year lawyer Belinda Adams has joined Dibbs Barker Gosling Brisbane’s property team. She has worked for various government departments. Michael Ma has been appointed to the firm’s corporate group. Ma, also a second-year lawyer, is experienced in commercial transactions and advising on business entities and is an accredited English-Chinese translator. As well, first year lawyer Matthew Rouse has been appointed to the firm’s corporate practice group. He was previously at Sparke Helmore in Sydney where he gained broad experience in corporate and commercial law.

 
 

Paul McGrory has recently joined the projects and commercial property group at Nicol Robinson Halletts. McGory’s background is in commercial property law with a recent focus on management rights transactions in Queensland and NSW. He has practised as a solicitor in this area of law in Queensland since 1988.

TressCox Lawyers has appointed Terry Grace as a partner in its property and infrastructure group. The firm said Grace is one of Australia’s leading lawyers in the specialist areas of construction, energy and transport law. He was previously at Deacons. David Taylor has also joined the firm as a Sydney-based consultant from Sydney Airports Corporation where he assumed the role of general manager, corporate affairs.

Henry Davis York has appointed Jennifer Degotardi and Andrew Steele as senior associates in its property environmental planning group. In its corporate advisory group, the firm has appointed senior associate and Ben Mortimer. Degotardi has experience in all facets of commercial property law, gained from many years at Mallesons Stephen Jaques and, more recently, Gilbert + Tobin. Steele, formerly of Freehills, specialises in transactional property matters. Mortimer, formerly from PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal, specialises in mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and corporate finance transactions.

Ebsworth & Ebsworth has promoted three lawyers to partner and appointed two new partners. Melbourne-based Ryan Lee acts primarily for insurers of building and construction professionals. He also specialises in professional indemnity, public liability and product liability work. Robert McGregor, in the Sydney dispute resolution group, practises in the area of commercial litigation. Danella Wilmshurst is a shipping lawyer based in Sydney. Based in the firm’s Melbourne office, Bill Karvela and Theo Kalyvas, formerly of Holding Redlich, have joined the partnership. Karvela is a commercial and property lawyer and Kalyvas practises in construction and planning. They bring with them two property and construction lawyers, Emily Porter and Catherine Bourne.
