Interlink drives M5 widening

Interlink drives M5 widening

Allens, Ashurst, Freehills and King & Wood Mallesons have advised on a PPP which will see lanes added on the M5 motorway.

Firms: Allens (Interlink Roads Pty Ltd), Ashurst (Roads and Maritime Services), Freehills (Interlink on the debt finance aspects of transaction), King & Wood Mallesons (Interlink on the equity finance and tax aspects of transaction)

Deal: Structured as a PPP, the project will widen the M5 South West Motorway by one lane in each direction between King Georges Road, Beverly Hills and Camden Valley Way and Casula.

Area: PPP

Value: Undisclosed

Key players: Nigel Papi, Leighton O'Brien, Andrew Mansour and Rob Watt led the Allens team, with assistance from Joel Sturgeon, Eve Regnard, Louise Santos, Roslyn Stein, Tom Levi, Victoria Conde, Trieste Corby and Erica Stander.

Deal significance: Interlink Roads operates the 21km tolled M5 South West Motorway, which is part of the main passenger, commercial and freight route between Sydney Airport, Port Botany and south-west Sydney. This deal will reduce travel time for motorists and support planned growth in south-west Sydney.
