Firms act on ‘appy acquisition

Firms act on ‘appy acquisition

Arnold Bloch Leibler and Clayton Utz have acted on a deal that saw Sky Technologies, a Melbourne-based, SAP-certified mobility solutions provider, sell its business to Kony Solutions, a mobile and multi-channel application platform provider.

Firms: Arnold Bloch Leibler, assisted by Enterprise Law Group in the US (Sky Technologies); Clayton Utz, assisted by Fenwicks in the US (Kony Solutions)

Deal: Acquisition of Sky Technologies by Kony Solutions

Area: Technology

Value: Confidential

Key players: Arnold Bloch Leibler partner Michael Dodge (pictured), senior associate Jorja Cleeland and lawyers Daniel Song and Jing Chang conducted the transaction on behalf of Sky Technologies

Deal significance: The acquisition of Sky Technologies by Kony brings together Sky’s enterprise expertise and large base of SAP mobile customers and Kony’s packaged mobile applications and application management solutions, which will simplify enterprise mobility and benefit businesses through highly-efficient mobile technologies.

Sky Technologies is a mobile enterprise applications company that has deployed mobility projects to SAP customers in more than 35 countries from its offices in Australia, the US and the UK. Kony is a developer of customisable pre-built apps that give companies the ability to build apps and to deploy and manage them everywhere.

“This deal highlights that Australian technology companies continue to be highly sought after in the global marketplace,” said Dodge.
