Deal: Motor Accident Commission (MAC) purchases half interest in landmark Brisbane property

Area: Real estate

Value: Circa $196 million

Key players: Thomsons' team was led by partner Sian Rees (pictured), with key support from partner Chris O'Shea, senior associate Lisa Bielby, and associate Heath Gleig-Scott. Allens team was led by partner Victoria Holthouse.

Deal significance: MAC purchased a half interest in Brisbane property 400 George St from Grosvenor to become tenant-in-common under a co-ownership relationship with German entity Trinkaus. The 34-storey, A-grade office tower has a five-star Green Star office rating and tenants include the Department of Public Works, the Department of Human Services, Cooper Grace Ward, Newcrest Mining and Microsoft. This is the first major sale in the Brisbane office tower market in 2013.
