The transaction comprises the sale by the Aker group of 100 per cent of the shares in various subsidiaries which operate process and construction operations, including Aker Solutions Australia Pty Ltd.
Completion of the transaction took place on 1 February 2011.
The Blake Dawson team, which comprised Bill Koeck, Elizabeth Pakchung, Ruth Stringer, Andrew Terrett, Jadd Sanson-Fisher, James Parkin, Mark Brennan, Marcus Steele, Jamie Ng, Nichola Shaw, Barbara Phair and Janice Lo, provided assistance to Paul Hastings, the primary lawyers for Jacobs, on the Australian aspects of the transaction.
The acquisition expands Jacobs' global presence in the mining and metals market, provides a new geographic region of operations with South America, and increases Jacobs' presence in China. It also gives Jacobs a greater regional presence in Australia, Europe and North America.
