Announced in December 2010, the acquisition is valued at approximately $290 million and gives CHAMP some of Australia's most recognised brands, including Hardy's, Houghtons, Leasingham and Banrock Station.
Thomsons advised on all aspects of due diligence and assisted on the sale of all of Constellation's interests, with the team being led by corporate partner Loretta Reynolds and senior associate Jason Marcus, while Clayton Utz also provided advice.
Thomsons previously acted for Constellation in relation to its proposed merger with Australian Vintage Limited (which did not proceed).
Constellation is an S&P 500 Index and Fortune 1000 company with approximately 6,000 employees, sales in about 125 countries and operations at approximately 30 facilities.
