Baker & McKenzie has acted for the first Australian firm to list on the NASDAQ in 15 years.

Bakers' US-based Sydney partner, Andrew Reilly, led the firm's team - which also included lawyers from its Kuala Lumpur and Toronto offices - for renewable energy producer Mission NewEnergy after it completed a $US25 million ($22.9 million) IPO in the US on 26 April.

"In addition to this transaction, Baker & McKenzie has recently advised other Asia-Pacific renewable energy companies on US public offers and listings as they seek higher valuations in the United States," said Reilly.

New York-based DLA Piper partner Yvan-Claude Pierre provided counsel to the underwriters.

The Perth-based global company plans to use money raised in the IPO to expand its farming operations.
