At a wine-tasting event hosted by the firm, staff were enlisted to select which Gondwana wines would be used for future in-house catering (a trying task, no doubt).
The event was attended by Gondwana Wines CEO Alisi Tutuila and director Ben Hansberry, as well as Indigenous artist Val Pitt, who is responsible for the stunning art on the wine labels.
They outlined their company’s commitment to giving back to Indigenous communities by donating $1 from every bottle to local art centres.
As a member of Supply Nation, which supports businesses that are at least 51 per cent Indigenous-owned, G+T is focused on integrating Indigenous companies into its supply chain.
The firm has previously engaged an Indigenous stationery supplier and will now buy wine from Nallawilli wines and Gondwana wines.
The firm will host events and programs throughout Reconciliation week, including a panel discussion devoted to the issue of Indigenous constitutional recognition and a mentoring program that pairs Indigenous law students with Indigenous solicitors and barristers.
