Other montages included a woman being flashed across the screen looking equally stern, and an elderly gent called 'John' who was "a real client of Maurice Blackburn".

Accompanying these serious looking people were catchphrases such as "we fight for people who deserve better" and "we fight for people who are up against it".

Folklaw was so distracted that it forgot to check the NRL web-site for the latest on the Benji Marshall assault charge or if you could lay a bet at Centrebet Stadium, the home of the Penrith Panthers.

Folklaw is unsure whether Maurice Blackburn sought to advertise on the NRL website as it wanted to be linked to the "battlers" game, or if given the amount of off-field dramas that have afflicted rugby league in recent seasons - ranging from betting scandals to assault charges and drunk and disorderly conduct - it is pitching itself as the place to go for citizens that have been wronged by rugby league stars, or perhaps those fans who have had a nasty run in with a betting house (one such house is also advertising on the website).

Surely there is a possible class action there?
