Visitors to the Sydney law firm Addisons will be able to see Cate Blanchett after the firm purchased a pair of jeans with her image.

At last week's Jeans For Genes fundraising dinner, the firm shelled out $8000 for the denim threads, which depict Blanchett in a regal regalia - one leg bearing a picture of Aussie Cate in ceremonial garb and the other showing her in battle uniform, from her role as Queen Elizabeth 1 a few years back.

"If she wants to come and see how her jeans are being respected at any time she is, of course, most welcome," said the firm's joint managing partner, Laura Hartley.

Designed by the Sydney artist Nafisa Naomi, the jeans have been described as "presenting her [Blanchett] feminine beauty for which she captures the hearts and imaginations of those who see her".

While Blanchett is undoubtedly gorgeous, Folklaw is not sure if the depiction of her with a massive feather on her head on one thigh, and in Ned Kelly style armour on the other, shows her in her most attractive light.

The jeans are certainly an impressive work of art, featuring gold paint specially imported from Japan and diamantes.

Addisons also purchased a pair of jeans worn by Getaway television presenter Jules Lund for $1500. By our reckoning, that means Addisons rate Lund as being worth about one of Blanchett's calves in the denim comparison stakes, which is pretty fair.

Other celebrities to donate jeans were Wallaby legend Tim Horan, My Cousin Vinny sexpot Marisa Tomei, angry chef Gordon Ramsay and actor Ewan McGregor.

Folklaw thinks it was wise for Addisons not to pick up jeans from the Scottish pair of Ramsay and McGregor, as lots of time spent in the kitchen and travelling around on a motorbike would make for some pretty sweaty pants.

Staff from Addisons also raised several thousand dollars selling badges as part of the Jeans For Genes day, which is a major fundraiser for the Children's Medical Research Institute.
