BRISBANE law firm Carter Newell has turned pink with generosity.

Staff today hands over $1,900 to as a charitable donation to the Cancer Council of Queensland.

Staff have been making deductions directly through their pay as part of the firm's workplace giving program. In a bid to support the fund raising, the firm has purchased pink shirts, to be work every Friday this month.

The charity drive comes after the firm was "personally touched" by breast cancer earlier this year.

"While the firm is supporting those directly affected, the staff also wanted to send a strong message, not only to those affected within the firm but the wider community that eventually a cure will be found," said Belinda Parish, the firm's HR manager.
