THOSE WHO feel like a little postgraduate study in their holidays to answer questions about the world will have access to four leading international guest lecturers at the University of Technology this summer.

Human rights, the use of force and development in US and European law will be the focus of the international law lectures at the University’s Faculty of Law summer and autumn sessions.

Dr Angela Ward from the UK will review the enforcement of international human rights law in jurisdictions across the globe. As well, German Professor Udo Mayer will discuss European Union law and Professor Jim Mooney from the US will examine new directions in American law.

Using case studies including Afghanistan, Iraq, the Persian Gulf and the Cuban Missile Crisis, US Professor James Hickey will explore the legality of the use of force in international law.
