In-house lawyers have voted Mallesons Stephen Jaques the Australian Law Firm of the Year in the 2009 PLC Which Lawyer? Global Award.

Mallesons has picked up the award for the 7th year running, with Minter Ellison and Allens Arthur Robinson coming in as joint runners up.

Over 5,500 in-house counsel from around the world were invited to vote online, with awards presented for the top law firms in different regions around the world. Voters were able to nominate a firm of their choice or to pick from a shortlist compiled by the PLC Which Lawyer? team.

Other winners included Clifford Chance, which was named International Law Firm of the Year; Baker & McKenzie, winning for Asia, Latin America and the Middle East; Linklaters, winning in the UK; and Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom picking up the award for the US.
