MCDONALDS UK has appointed Della Burnside as its new general counsel and company secretary.

The fast food giant has gone internal in its appointment. Burnside has been with the company since May 2007, most recently in the role of UK head of legal services.As reported by legalweek.com, Burnside will report to chief financial officer Brian Mullins and international general counsel Chris Hammer, and her responsibilities will include property, franchising, employment and intellectual property legal issues.
Burnside's experience includes being the head of legal at easyGroup - the private investment vehicle of entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou. She has also worked in private practice as a litigator for UK firm Osborne Clarke and the London office of former Chicago firm Altheimer & Gray.
