IF A LAWYERS Weekly news poll is anything to go by it looks like the cliché is true — lawyers really do always have their heads stuck in a book. In our latest news poll we asked lawyers about their favourite way to spend their leisure time.

Narrowly ahead of the pack, the most popular response was “curling up on the couch with a good book” which received 32 per cent of votes.

Coming in a very close second place, with 30 per cent of the votes, was “wining and dining at a nice restaurant”. Further down the line, 20 per cent of respondents favour “packing up my sunnies and swimmers and hitting the beach” while 11 per cent cited “getting my skis on and hitting the slopes” as their dream pastime.

The result that Lawyers Weekly found perhaps the most surprising was that “getting the golf clubs together and playing a round” received the lowest number of votes of all — limping in at just 7 per cent.
