The Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association last week announced the appointment of Tom Goudkamp as national president. Goudkamp will replace John Gordon, who will end his year-long term in July this year.

Managing director of Stack/Goudkamp and current APLA president-elect, Goudkamp brings with him 25 years’ experience in personal injury law. He is a member of the NSW Law Society’s Personal Injury Law Committee and a member of the Specialist Accreditation Board, chair of the NSW Law Society’s Personal Injuries Advisory Committee, and a Claims Assessment Resolution Service assessor.

APLA CEO Eva Scheerlinck said Goudkamp was a founding APLA member, and she welcomed him to his new role. “He has a profound understanding of the current tort reform issues facing Australian plaintiff law, and brings to APLA a great deal of knowledge and experience gained from a career dedicated to the protection of plaintiff rights,” she said.
