Continuing to raise awareness about the critical issue of mental health in the legal profession, the Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation (TJMF) will hold its sixth annual lecture this Thursday (29 September).

This year's lecture will explore the topic "Profit, Success and Happiness - Can you have it all?" featuring journalist Julie McCrossin.

Joining McCrossin on a panel will be Freehills HR director Gareth Bennett, HopgoodGanim managing partner Bruce Humphrys, Minter Ellison (Adelaide and Darwin) managing partner Nigel McBride, psychiatrist Dr Michael Diamond, special counsel Trish McDonald, Marque Lawyers partner Damian Sturzaker and Alex Boxsell from The Australian Financial Review.

"Research continues to show that the incidence of moderate or severe depression is 50 per cent higher in lawyers than in any other profession," said TJMF founder Marie Jepson, discussing the purpose of the lecture. "We hope to continue to educate and raise awareness about this problem through our lecture, while helping to find strategies to improve the lives of those working in the legal industry."

The lecture will be telecast live from Sydney to venues in South Australia, Western Australia and the ACT. Attendees will be able to participate in the discussion via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
