Adrian Rich (pictured), formerly a senior associate at Herbert Smith Freehills, has joined Minters as a special counsel in the Brisbane office.

Mr Rich previously advised on real estate transactions for institutional property owners, developers and companies in the energy and resources, aviation, and retail sectors, according to a statement from Minters.

Head of Brisbane real estate practice Robin Lyons said Mr Rich would add strength to the senior bench in Brisbane.

“Adrian has an enviable track record of acquisition and disposal of real estate assets in the commercial, industrial, retail and resources sectors,” Mr Lyons said.

In the past two months HSF also lost partner Darren James to Mills Oakley’s commercial disputes and insolvency team while boutique firm Allion Legal recruited executive counsel Stephen Byrne.

Minter Ellison has also suffered losses in recent months, with special counsel Siew Tong leaving to become a partner at Hicksons and three special counsel quitting to launch Mills Oakley’s new Perth office.
