KHQ appoints new workplace relations partner
KHQ Adelaide has expanded its partnership with the appointment of a workplace relations lawyer.
Thea Birss joins KHQ’s Adelaide office from NDA Law this month.

Ms Birss has 20 years’ experience in employment and safety law, having represented clients in a wide range of industries across all aspects of employment, industrial relations, anti-discrimination and safety law.
“We are excited to have Thea on board as her skill set is a great fit for our clients, and her practical, solution-oriented approach is very popular,” partner Peter Buberis said.
KHQ’s head of intellectual property, Fiona Trethewey, added Ms Birss’ skills will complement the firm’s intellectual property, franchising, commercial and real property expertise to meet the legal needs of all their business clients.
Ms Birss has delivered employment and safety advice and representation in South Australia for many years, partnering with clients in all aspects of workplace relations, employment and safety law. She undertakes workplace investigations, resolves disputes and has delivered a wide range of seminars and workshops to empower clients to proactively address workplace issues.
She also has experience in delivering tailored risk management systems to minimise the risk of adverse legal, organisational and commercial outcomes.
